Walking a ridge overlooking a deep canyon we spotted 3 different bulls on the slopes across the other side. After glassing them for a while, we finally decided to slide down the hill on our butts to go after the biggest one.I'm sorry to admit that I can't help you with the odd stamp - it does not fit any Belgian or British crown shape. However, I CAN help you with the proof loads under the Belgian Proof Rules of 1846 and 53 - covering the putative era during which your gun was likely made. Your figure is in...Dec 28, 2023. #9. Your very best option is rifle shop and someone who knows how to assemble it. Perdisoli is great but less then correct. A loyalist arms bess from India will spark as well as my custum lock, at least mine does. They offer more models and are as close to original as Perdisoli. The wood is not walnut.1/4" is equal to 6.350 mm. 6.5mm is equal to .2559" but there is no standard 6.5 mm thread. 6.0 mm is equal to .236 inches so it would be undersize in a 1/4-28 hole. Dixie gunworks offers some nipples with oversize threads for the 1/4-28 (.250-28) thread. Among them is a .255, .260, .265 and .270 diameter thread.Oct 10, 2020 · Weighs just over 8lbs, so it's quite handy for a double barrel gun. Barrel swivel detents are nice and solid. Seems in decent shape overall. These are fairly uncommon so if you're thinking about playing with a swivel breech this is about as affordable as it gets. $550 Shipping Included. If it fires, good- then repeat using wadding over the powder charge. If it won't fire now, your powder charge is behind/ below the vent hole and the spark isn't touching powder.Hi team. I have not visited for some time. I have been distracted by those flashy new cartridge rifles. :nono: A short time ago I was lucky enough to acquire a Lyman 39538 mould that throws a .40cal hollow base, basically a Minie, bullet. The slug weighs 134gr in 40-1 alloy. I thought they might go rather well in my Colerain barrel Wesson rifle.0. Jan 29, 2007. #1. Hi, Most of my muzzleloader experience is with tc hawkens... The barrel and gun were made by Abdul Hakim Usta in 1979. The bolster on the breech plug is very small and it appears to have a flange around it that caps the end of the barrel. The internal plug also has an end that seems to be …Much more than a modern firearm that has had 200 rounds through it. Use lubes like olive oil or crisco or whatever you like best while you're shooting to keep the fouling soft enough to re-load. Even the small amount of wax in my paper fiber wads helps a lot to keep the fouling soft.Powder, 2 thin "overshot" cards 1 or 2 lubed felt wads, shot load (either in a paper shot cup/cartridge or not), then a thin overshot card. For the Skychief load the order is; powder, thick over powder wad (sometimes referred to as a nitro card), then the shot load, thin overshot card, then a thick fiber "cushion" wad that has been thoroughly ...When I first got my Walker 4-5 years ago I found the loading lever would drop pretty regularly under recoil. Anther fella on a different board described a minor modification to the loading lever latch that solved the problem. My Walker is made by ASM and I found the latch piece did not have much spring to it like it should.South Carolina. Mar 30, 2020. #1. In my opinion, for a Production gun, the Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken is the "best" one out there, and perhaps the only true production replica out there. I have had one for years in 54 caliber, which has a 1-65 twist barrel. Mine shoots a patched round ball OR a Hornady GP conical very accurately.JB may be too fine, depending on how rough the bore actually is. 320 grit Clover compound is good as is fine valve grinding compound. If the bore shows reamer marks across the rifling that may be the problem. If it's smooth then it's something else wrong, like the lube. Some of the TC rifle and some of the Pedersoli's come with a hole already there, but of not, do not panic, it's an easy 5 minute job to drill and tap a 6/32 or 8/32 hole. BTW - TOTW has the best prices on the Pedersoli Ghost sights. The load for the 45, is 115g, but actually it weighs 80.5 grain. This is 115 x 0.7, the ratio found on Western Powders website. This can result in increased leading and reduced accuracy if the base of the conical is melted or deformed. 2) Increased gas-check/sealing.Pull the wedges and lift the barrel out of the stock. It's not all fancy schmantzy, but I've wanted to build this particular rifle since the mid 80's. Had the .45 Cal CVA kit of the same type when I was in the Marines, but didn't have the tools nor the smarts at the time to build it. M.Phoenix, AZ. Jun 3, 2020. #5. The ATFE basically says any firearm made before 1898 that is muzzleloading or shoots a cartridge that is no longer available qualifies it as an antique.Pour quickly, and swing the sprue plate after the puddle on top hardens with a gloved hand: don't strike it with anything. The outside dimensions are the same.32 Cal. A twist rate of 1 in 48 is considered a general compromise, supposedly capable of accurately throwing either a patched roundball or a conical projectile. Doesn't matter if the caliber is .32 or .62. However, like most "generalists", this twist rate probably is not the best for either roundball or conical. You can find the bench design online or in Chris Schwarz's book "Workbenches".
